Before you walk in

  • Full lease draft — not a summary or email recap
  • Questions from your red-flag sweep — SCRA waivers, military clause, fees, utilities
  • Anything the landlord said verbally that is not in writing
  • Move-in cost breakdown if fees are still unclear

What to ask legal assistance

  • Can you review this lease before I sign?
  • Is there an SCRA waiver or any clause that limits my military protections?
  • Does the military clause cover PCS orders the way I need it to?
  • What fees or obligations am I still on the hook for if orders change?
